Hi,

I want to migrate Sybase SQL Anywhere 16 Database to SQL Server in my current project using SSMA . I am planning to use SQL Server Migration Assistance for this. But i can see in the Microsoft documentation that it supports for Sybase ASE but not sure of Sybase ASA. Sybase SQL Anywhere 16 is Sybase ASA. So does SSMA support migration of Sybase ASA db. Iam getting the Driver and library related issues when trying to connect Sybase SQL Anywhere 16 from SSMA.

Note - If this tool doesn't support Sybase ASA migration , then need suggestion on any other way/tool to migrate the DB. We have 4000 tables approx in the Sybase DB.

Attached the error screenshots when used ODBC driver.36281-ssma-sybaseasa-connectionissue.png

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

Thanks,
Ather

    Hello,

Unfortunately SSMA does not support SQL Anywhere. You will need to perform the migration manually. Luckily Sybase is very close in its syntax to SQL Server, you should be able to simply use existing database scripts and create the same database in SQL Server with minimal modifications.

    Regards,
    Alex.
