I am developing an application based on MaWi Net and would like to implement a feature that allows the application to recognize when the user is looking at the screen and when they are not. This way, I can execute customized actions based on this information. Are there any APIs or specific Microsoft libraries that enable me to achieve this functionality efficiently? ? Any tips or pointers in this direction would be greatly appreciated.

Do you want to detect user is looking at the screen in MAUI application?

If so, .NET MAUI does not have a built-in mechanism specifically designed to determine whether the user is actively looking at the screen.

You can do it by the machine learning and the Camera api.

Are there any APIs or specific Microsoft libraries that enable me to achieve this functionality efficiently?

You can use ML.NET, as note: it support Supported on Windows and macOS.

For Android and iOS, you can try to use Google Vision, it can detect the face in an image.
