Support replication of on-premises VMware VM with UEFI Secure Boot enabled

Hello,

We are currently doing an ASR test from on-premises VMware vCenter to Azure and everything works well except for the fact that ASR doesn't seem to support the replication of VMware VM when UEFI secure boot is enabled (ASRMobilityServiceBootUEFISecureBootNotSupported).

Is there anything about that in the roadmap ?

 Thank you.

Damien

Hello @DEWITTE Damien](/users/na/?userid=2a8f5b5f-606b-43d3-8192-d733d1c33a5e) Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft Q&A platform. Happy to help!

I see that you have VMware set up and you are performing ASR DR test from on-premises VMware vCenter to Azure. However, you are being greeted with an error "ASRMobilityServiceBootUEFISecureBootNotSupporte".

If you would like to protect the VMware VM by ASR, you have to disable the Secure UEFI. Support matrix doc - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/vmware-physical-azure-support-matrix

Further Docs on what’s Secure Boot and how to disable/re-enable it:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/disabling-secure-boot#disable-secure-boot [learn.microsoft.com]
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/disabling-secure-boot#re-enable-secure-boot [learn.microsoft.com]

Regarding your question "Is there anything about that in the roadmap ?" I shall get back to you on that once I hear back from the product team.
