Student Subscription: No Longer Permits the Creation of New OpenAI Models?

I accidentally deleted my existing model and when I tried to recreate it, I was informed that I could not. I'm wondering if the student subscription no longer allows the creation of new OpenAI resources? If so, what should I do? I noticed that I can upgrade my subscription. If I do upgrade, will I still have access to the remaining quota from my current student subscription?
thanks to whoever could help me

ron Greetings & Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

I was informed that I could not. I'm wondering if the student subscription no longer allows the creation of new OpenAI resources? If so, what should I do?

Yes, Currently the Free subscription and Azure For Students subscription plans are no longer allows for Azure OpenAI use regardless of gating email.

Our team is working on getting this communicated to avoid any confusion and inconvenience.

Your subscription should be a pay-as-you-go account to ensure Azure OpenAI deployments are successful once your request is approved. If you are using any of the above subscriptions, please upgrade to pay-as-you-go and try.

I noticed that I can upgrade my subscription. If I do upgrade, will I still have access to the remaining quota from my current student subscription?

If you move to pay-as-you-go pricing before the end of 30 days, you won’t lose your credit. When you move to pay as you go, any credit you have remaining will still be available for the full 30 days from when you created your free account. See Upgrade your Azure free account or Azure for Students Starter account for more details.

Also, check Azure account requirements to get started to ensure Azure OpenAI deployments are successful once your request is approved.

Hope this helps. Do let me know if you have any further queries.
