Hi.

After upgrade SCCM to 2309 we cannot delete any Device Collection in the console. When we try to delete a collection, the console closes.

In event viewer we received:

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

1,Are you using Microsoft Entra group discovery? If yes, please install the latest KB24341484 for SCCM version 2309 to have a try.

    KB24341484

Data from Active Directory Group Discovery supersedes and overwrites data from Microsoft Entra group Discovery. This leads to inconsistent collection membership and query results.

2,Please help check the SMSProv.log and SmsAdminUI.log to see if there is any further information. SMSProv.log records WMI provider access to the site database. And smsAdminUI.log records Configuration Manager console activity.

3,Please also make sure the upgrade process has completed successfully. We can check the cmupdate.log and ConfigMgrAdminUISetup.log to see if there is any error.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon

    1. We dont use Microsoft Entra group discovery.
    2. In SMSProv.log we dont see any errors after we try to delete Device Collection.
      In SmsAdminUI.log:
System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException\r\nException has been thrown by the target of an invocation.\r\n at System.RuntimeMethodHandle.InvokeMethod(Object target, Object[] arguments, Signature sig, Boolean constructor)at System.Reflection.RuntimeMethodInfo.UnsafeInvokeInternal(Object obj, Object[] parameters, Object[] arguments)

at Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.AdminConsole.CollectionProperty.MenuUtilityClass.DeleteCollectionAction(Object sender, ScopeNode scopeNode, ActionDescription action, IResultObject selectedObjects, PropertyDataUpdated dataUpdatedDelegate, Status status)\r\n

The exception is a critical error

    Any updates in this case?

Also console crashes when we want to open Properties in Administration -> Overview -> Cloud Services -> Cloud Attach

This prevents us from working completely.
