Hello,

Is it possible to auto update win32 apps using supersedence ?

Let´s say I have Firefox version 88.0 which is deployed as available for enrolled users = 50 users installled it manually from Copany Portal.

Now I´ve deployed Firefox version 90.0 and set supersendence for version 88.0. Both apps are deploy as available for enrolled users.
Will Intune auto update for those 50 users Firefox to version 90.0 automatically, or how to do this ?

    @crawn23,Thanks for posting in Q&A.

    From your description, I know that you want to know if it is possible to auto update win32 apps using supersedence.

    Based on my research, I found that you can create one or more supersedence relationships between apps where you update or replace somethings. And whether it can auto update win32 app is depending on how you assign the supersedence app, if you assign it to required, it will automatically update win32 app, if you assign it to available for enrolled devices, the newer version will appear on Company portal, and you can install it.

    Hope this can help you.

    Yes, supersedence works like that. Remember to remove deployments of older version as well, deploy only new.

    Yes this works for Intune and Intune only. Unfortunately this does NOT work for SCCM.
