Can't create a resource group cause I am a student

Hi,

Wanted to complete the Azure AI Engineer Fundamental learning path. The first practical exercise is to create a workspace in Azure Machine Learning. I am on a student subscription and there appears to be a restriction, stating I cannot create a resource group (which happens to be one of the mandatory fields) for creating a workspace in Machine Learning.

Is there a way for the restriction to be removed or a separate environment allocated to students automatically? As it defeats the purpose of being on a student subscription with intentions to complete Microsoft learning modules/certifications but not have access to the mandatory fields, despite being identified as a Student subscription.

Many thanks,

Maggie

    Hi Maggie,

#1 I would recommend speaking to the owner of the subscription (most likely your school's IT department) for access rights to creating a resource group. Microsoft/people in this community do not have the ability to change these permissions.

#2 If you would like to continue with the learning path on your own, I suggest you create an Azure Free account (which gives you $200.00 worth of credits for the first 30 days).
