I need to ensure that the services running on my virtual machines are available in a single data center fails.

A solution that I found is: deploy the virtual machines to two or more availability zones, but if I deploy the virtual machines to two or more regions?
Does this meet the goal too?

Azure Virtual Machines
Azure Virtual Machines

An Azure service that is used to provision Windows and Linux virtual machines.

    Hi @Manisha Thanuku ,

Thanks for contacting Microsoft Q&A platform.
I think the most accurate answer depends on your definition of a data center. You can check the definitions for Azure and particularly for Availability zone. In your case the VMs will be in different datacenter if put in different availability zones but will be in the same region.

    Hope this helps you.

    Hi Manisha,

Yes, deploying to two or more regions will meet the goal as well, however, there will be more latency (since Regions are farther apart than Availability Zones) in this case and that may cause an issue for your specific use case.
