I used KVM/QEMU to start a windows virtual machine for testing in an ARM environment. The test steps are as follows:

  1. Use KVM/QEMU to start the windows11 virtual machine
  2. Enable fast startup in Windows via powercfg /h on
  3. Shut down the Windows virtual machine
  4. Start the windows virtual machine
  5. Windows quick startup fails, the event is as follows:
  • Kernel-Boot 29: Windows failed fast startup with error status xC00000719.
  • Kernel-Boot 41: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Please try below steps to see if it can help you further:

    1. Restart the Windows VM.
    2. Check Windows Version/Update to latest Version

Ensure that you are running a version of Windows that supports fast startup. Some editions or versions may have limitations or different requirements.

    3.UEFI Configuration:

Check if VM is configured with UEFI firmware. Logically fast startup is more effective with UEFI.

By the way, if you temporarily disable fast startup will VM boot normally?

Looking forward to your kindly update.
