The tenant where the custom domain name was registered was deleted.

And when you validate the custom domain name in the newly created tenant, you will see something like the following.

The deleted tenant appears to have Azure or O365 configured.

What should I do?

Please note that you cannot access the deleted tenant.

    Hi,

For some reason the domain is still registered in the old tenant and it will not allow to be added to the new one until it is removed and cleaned up from the previous domain, I will suggest you to wait till 24 to 48 hours before trying again to add in the new tenant. If that does not work try logging a support ticket with the MS team over here.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A community forum!

You need to open a support ticket to Azure through the Azure portal, you'll need to prove that you're the owner of the domain, and once it's released, you'll be able to register on the new tenant
