Good morning ChristyZhang,
Thank you for your interest.
In answer to your question, my version of Outlook is, I believe to be, "Outlook on the Web", and I've added another attachment to show you.
I would very much like to continue with the version I have because it suits my requirements. It is easier for me to use than later versions I've looked at, which have a lot of things I don't require and am not particularly interested in.
As i mentioned previously, in the version I have when I delete an email from my inbox it goes to my deleted items folder and the same thing used to happen when I deleted an email from my junk email folder. However, lately the emails that I delete from my junk email folder are automatically being permanently deleted. I can't understand why because I can move them myself to the deleted items folder by clicking on "move to" at the top of the page?
Items in the deleted items folder are automatically moved again, periodically, to a recoverable items page which is where the so called permanently deleted items go.
I don't open the items in my junk mail if they look like they are threatening or just plain junk and permanently delete them myself. Then I permanently delete them again from the recoverable items page. However, I do find items in the folder which I want to keep a little longer so I leave them to be disposed of from the deleted items folder in due course.
Sorry if I'm making things too drawn out and complication but I just wanted you to see things from my side? If I can't change things with what I already have, so be it.
I still can't understand why Outlook is suddenly permanently deleting items from the junk email folder instead of putting them in the deleted items folder?
why are deleted items in junk mail being permanently deleted?
I use the desktop version of outlook. Live. Up until recently when I deleted an item from my junk mail folder it would automatically go to my deleted items folder. Whereas now, they are being permanently deleted when I do the same thing and for me it's more of an incontinence than a convenience. It gives more control, in my opinion to do it the former way. I actually manually delete many unwanted items daily from my deleted folder, but there are some I'd prefer to keep for a while.
I'm at the age where there's not a lot of activity in my emails, except for the stuff I don't want, and I like to keep things simple. I hope there's a simple solution for my problem?
