Hello everyone,
I use a Remote Desktop for a lot of my work and it has been working great for a long time. The other day a couple of things changed. One is the following windows updates were installed and the other was the ISP reset the connection and the external IP changed.
Internally everything worked as normally but externally I get the 0x204 error. These were the updates that were installed:
I have reset the fibre router and the internal routers and still no access. I have changed the port Remote Desktop uses, deleted the old firewall rules, created new ones for the new port and changed the TCP/UDP port forwarding rules on the router and restarted everything again.
Still no change. Internal access works but external access fails.
I have tried uninstalling the updates which hasn't helped.
I have a Plex server and a QNAP server on this network and both of those work externally no problem that makes me think it is something to do with the local windows configuration.
Has anyone had a similar problem with this latest update? There appears to be a fix for a 2022 issue that suggests to turn off UDP and I've tried that and it hasn't fixed the problem.
