Hi I have been tasked to block social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok from a user at my workplace. I have tried the hosts.txt file in the windows\system32\driver\etc folder, I released IP flushed DNS and renewed IP config and still did not manage to block those sites. I also cleared the catch within the browser. Is it possible to block websites from the local machine? is there another way of achieving this? the PC is within the domain network. I hope my question is clear if not let me know I will rephrase. :) Thank you

Hello, In general, using hosts file to limit the accessing, just add a line to the end of the file using 127.0.0.1 and put the website name you want to restrict. Make sure you have added the line correctly. You can rerefer below link for more information: https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/tech/how-to-block-a-website-on-windows-1
