What’s the best way to integrate our data into Power BI utilizing our REST API?

We are a software company that supports our customers by sending data to a Cloud DB. Customer Data --> SQL Server --> Power BIWe'd like to eliminate the middle step (SQL Server) and be "Power BI Friendly". What’s the best and easiest way to integrate our data directly into Power BI utilizing our REST API?
