Are Microsoft Teams (business) meetings always hosted on a server or are they Peer to Peer for 1-on-1 meetings?

Hi folks, Our team have users with Microsoft 365 Business Basic and Standard subscriptions. We have team members worldwide residing in countries with varying Internet connection qualities. As Admin, I am curious if all meetings using Microsoft Teams via joining links (not via calls) are routed via a server, regardless of the number of participants OR if meetings with only 2 participants are run as P2P. I found some old Skype for Business documentations online stating P2P method is used when having only 2 participants, but I'm unsure if that is the same for Teams AND if this is even applicable to meetings via links (not via calls). This matters because I believe the location of the first user to join the meeting determines the server location (per some documentation I found on Skype for Business). If so, having a user residing in a country with slow Internet to join will make sure server located closest to that user will be chosen. I'm just not sure if this matter when it comes to a one-on-one meeting. Thank you.

    @Daniel A
    Microsoft Teams meetings are typically hosted on a server, even for one-on-one meetings. However, the actual data transmission during the meeting may use peer-to-peer connections between participants when possible, in order to reduce latency and improve performance.
