I have received this today from 'Microsoft'. I hope it is spam as I am ignoring it.
It is asking me to verify my account before Microsoft deletes it!

Looks like spam to me, you can have a look at the address that the email was sent from, if it's a genuine Microsoft email address or not.

That is the sort of thing I was looking for but no boxes visible.
Try closing and re-opening the web browser, or try a different browser, see if it helps.
Nope. Tried Edge and Firefox closing and reopening with no improvement.
