Hi all;

I think I've asked this wrong (here and here and here). So I am starting over going back to pasics.

When I go to Zoom and create an event. And tell it to send out invites. When I get that invite in Outlook, it is the same as an invite I get from a co-worker who sent me an invite from Outlook. There's no attachment, there's no security warning, there's noting extra or unusual. And very important - there's no security warning.

What is Zoom sending? Or what is Outlook sending? Is it an email (I assume so)? And if so, what are the specific contents in it that make this all work? If it's one or several embedded MIME types, what types and what specifically needs to be in them?

thanks - dave

    Hi @David Thielen , When you create an event in Zoom and send out invites, Zoom is essentially sending an email with specific content that allows it to be recognized as a calendar event by email clients like Outlook. This is similar to how an invite sent directly from Outlook works.

    Zoom Invitations: When you create a meeting in Zoom and send out invitations, Zoom generates an email that includes the following:

    • The Zoom link for the meeting.
    • The Meeting ID and password (if required).
    • Additional invitation methods like inviting by phone or inviting a room system (if these features are enabled).
    • The date and time of the meeting.

    Outlook Invitations: When you create a meeting in Outlook and send out invitations, Outlook generates an email that includes the following:

    • The title, timing, location, and description of the meeting.
    • The email addresses of the required and optional attendees.
    • The date and time of the meeting.

    So, in summary, both Zoom and Outlook are sending emails with specific MIME types that allow them to be recognized and processed as calendar events by email clients.
