How to extract tax details using the Invoice preset

Hi we use Azure Document Intelligence to extract data from receipts and invoice. Is it normal that the receipt preset can extract the tax details in the document but the invoice preset can not ? Is there a way we can extract tax details with the invoice preset ? Regards

My use case is to extract data from an invoice including the VAT taxes. When using the receipt preset, I get a TaxDetails array containing the information about the applied VAT taxes. When using the invoice preset, I was expecting the same kind of information but for a reason I ignore, there is no TaxDetails in the invoice preset.

Additionally, you can try query field extraction feature in invoice model. This query fields are helpful to extract the specific fields you need.

Hello @Francois KARAM , Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A Platform.

The field extraction support for Pre-built Invoice and pre-built Receipt model is listed here. Kindly go through this documentation.

With the Document Intelligence v3.0 and later versions, Receipt model supports tax detail extraction for all receipt types.

However, with Invoice model, TotalTax is extracted in general. But the TaxItems field is currently only available for the TaxItems (en-IN only) locale. It is an array that holds added tax information such as CGST, IGST, and SGST.

Additionally, you can try query field extraction feature for invoice model. This query fields are helpful to extract the specific fields you need.

Try to use the model that best fits your case. You can use the latest v4.0 preview version to see if that helps. Otherwise, use the Custom models to train your data.
