No device (FPGA card) available on Azure standard NP10 node

I'm running Ubuntu 20.04 on an Azure standard NP10 VM and xbutil scan, xbutil list, and xclprobe() all report that there are no devices available on the machine. These nodes should all be connected to FPGAs, and I've had no issues with connectivity to the FPGAs on NP nodes in the ~5 years that I've spent developing on them. I haven't been able to find any suggestions on how to go about troubleshooting this, and a VM reboot didn't solve anything. If anyone has any guidance or recommendations, let me know. Thanks!

You might try performing a stop/start to see if that resolves it. Based on your experience you have probably already completed the installation of the necessary packages which are listed on the NP series page. Including them here just in case:

Install the following packages.> xrt_202210.2.13.479_20.04-amd64-xrt.deb> xrt_202210.2.13.479_20.04-amd64-azure.deb> xilinx-u250-gen3x16-xdma-platform-2.1-3_all_18.04.deb.tar.gz> xilinx-u250-gen3x16-xdma-validate_2.1-3005608.1_all.deb

If that doesn't resolve your issue please let me know and we can work with you directly to investigate.

I have indeed tried to stop/start the VM with up to 12 hours between. The VM was instantiated from the marketplace image for the Vitis 2020.2 version of this offer https://azuremarketplace.microsoft.com/en/marketplace/apps/xilinx.vitis2022_1_ubuntu2004_development_image?tab=Overview, and thus came with the necessary packages pre-installed (namely Vitis and XRT). I'd had no issues communicating with the Alveo card on this VM in the past, but went a few months without using the VM, then came back to it and have been unable to get xrt to recognize the card since. Do you recommend that I update the XRT installation from the 2020.2 release to their most recent one?

@agitaalex Sorry that I somehow missed your response. From our documentation: Xilinx recommends Vitis 2022.1, you can also use the Development VM marketplace options (Vitis 2022.1 Development VM for Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 20.04, and CentOS 7.8) It is worth upgrading to see if it resolves the issue.
