I am taking a class that requires that I submit the task of:

  • Adding the group ResearchProject1 as a member of the Research group

The issue is that when I am logged into Azure, and have navigated to All Groups > ResearchProject1 > Overview, my instructions are to select the blade "Group memberships" then add this group to the Research Group, but there is no blade called "Group Memberships" on my overview page.

Solutions that I have attempted are:

  • I have tried to add the group through the users portal, but it only allows for the addition of users and applications, NOT groups.
  • I have assigned my account the roles of:
    • Groups Administrator
    • Global Administrator
    • User Administrator
    • Microsoft Entra Joined Device Local Administrator

NONE OF THESE HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM!!!

Please help!!!!

Attached is a screenshot of my page (issue_1) and an example screenshot that I am "supposed" to see when logged in (issue_1_school_example).

    Hi @jsims5

Thank you for posting your query on Q&A.

For your query, I understand that you’re trying to add a group as a member of another group in Entra ID which it is called as Nested groups.

Currently, Entra ID does not support nested groups directly, however you can achieve this by creating dynamic groups based on the member of attribute, which allows you to populate a group with members from other groups.

For more information, please refer the below documents
Create "nested" groups with Azure AD Dynamic Groups Nested groups and Azure AD
