I've just got my XBOX PC Game pass. Will I lose games I download when my game pass ends?

-Apologies for the random tag, had to give one! The question really sums it up. Will I keep or lose my games (e.g. Minecraft Java) when my subscription to XBOX Game Pass ends?

When your subscription ends then you will no longer have access to the games you downloaded from GP. It doesn't matter whether you downloaded already or not. When it checks to see if you have a valid digital license it'll fail. You can read about how cancellation/removal works on the official FAQ.

@Abraham Mendoza Please do not use someone else's threat to post your own question. Create your own question to get a better answer.

In terms of spending money. If you buy a game then it is yours. If you buy stuff from a game on GP and the game goes away or your subscription ends then you don't have access to the game or stuff you bought. To get back the "stuff" you need to either purchase the game or renew your subscription.

so if i got my game on gamepass i would have to buy it and it expired i would have to get it again

If you bought the game on GamePass (aka went to the game's store page and bought it there) then you do not need to buy it again. If you are simply downloading the game from GP then you're renting it and once the subscription ends the game no longer works. You must purchase the game in order to own it.

Hi, If I have already bought a game on xbox & can play it on the xbox app on pc but ultimate on xbox runs out. Is it possible to still play the game on pc??
