Hi MSDev team,

there is a bug on that client version and you need fix! Let´s check some points:

  1. Windows 11 'fresh install' on a Dell laptop (I7-1165g7 + 8GB RAM + NVME ADATA 256GB) with all WindowsUpdates available applyed;
  2. The user owner of the onedrive shared folder has 'Microsoft 365 Business Basic' license and the end user which received permission has also the same license. Both on the same M365 tenant.
  3. Using ficticious names: The user 'John' shared one of his OneDrive folder which has almost 13 subfolders and each folder with 02 ou 03 files - the entire size of this folder is just 05MB - he shared with 'Maria' - for that example.
  4. After John do the sharing process, as expected, Maria received and email alert about the sharing, so she decide to open the link wich goes to the Microsoft OneDrive website, after that, she chooses to 'sync' to her computer.

Now the problem appears! John has a large content on his OneDrive folders structure - but the shared folder for that case is 'stupidly small'.

After explain that, here goes the 'one-milion' question:

  1. Why the OneDrive client, after start to sync that 'library' (I think that that 'term' is incorrect since isn't SharePoint environment) 'looking' for 474.043 updates? A simple sync of a folder with 05MB takes almost 40min - that so crazy man!

Take a look the size of the database file, for that simple sync of 05MB share folder - crazy!!! anydesk00024

Impossible to see shared folder contents: anydesk00025

That version is not (even) cited on the article bellow - isn't updated anymore???

There is no team to update it??? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/onedrive-release-notes-845dcf18-f921-435e-bf28-4e24b95e5fc0

. ############### Today (17/02/2024) ############### I just visit Microsoft OneDrive website looking to download the app and then came the version '24.023.0131.0003' - which is also not cited on that article above.
