Hi Guys,

I am using ADMT to migrate my on-prem domain to the Azure domain, will the ADMT copy everything there so the on-prem domain still has all its objects like users, and other stuff? or will it migrate it so the on-prem wont have all the object anymore

I basically want to know if it is copy pasting or cut-paste

    Hi @Hadi Burhan
The ADMT tool is designed to copy objects and their attributes from the source domain to the target domain.
In summary, ADMT performs a migration that is more similar to copying the objects rather than moving them. The source domain's objects remain intact unless you decide to remove or modify them post-migration, After the migration, the objects will exist in both the source and the target domains unless you explicitly remove them from the source domain.

    Hi Guys,

after a lot of searching I came to find documentation that was recently updated in 2023 regarding migration using ADMT from one domain to another.

    https://verinext.com/revisiting-active-directory-migration-tool/#:~:text=This%20is%20necessary%20to%20help,interrogated%20when%20the%20time%20comes.&text=The%20next%20step%20is%20the,so%20on%20this%20example%20environment.

I have a few questions though regarding this I read in different docs that you have to install SQL Express so ADMT can store information and stuff like that but in this document, it says it isn't needed since it's from one DC to another DC. Also, many of the docs previously said to close firewalls and stuff like that but this doc doesn't say to do that. Can someone go through this and let me know if there is any step missing and if closing the firewall is required, and if yes when? and should I install SQP Express?
