Microsoft Authenticator not working with Azure MFA after reinstall

After reinstalling an Android mobile device, the Microsoft Authenticator does not work with either code or notification. This is Authenticating against Azure AD. During the setup process, the test process works for both notification and code generator. When used 5 minutes later, neither the code nor the notification is working. I've repeated the delete/setup process several times. The only working option is SMS. The notification and code works for Microsoft Account.

Any suggestions?

Hi @Edvard Gundersen . Are you reinstalling the authenticator app or restoring it (or the whole android app/data set) from a backup?

I had to reinstall the whole phone :( So I had to add all the app again, including the Auth. For the other sites/vendors the Auth work now, but not the Azure AD MFA.
I did not restore from backup. I've loaded the apps from the library in Google Play. (Then I can drop apps I don't use anymore :) )
Any suggestions?
It seems the request from AAD point to another device/token...

Sorry James, It is still a problem. The only option working for MFA auth against AAD is SMS. Neither notification nor verify-code is working ("Not expected code"). I've tried re-authenticate, and during that process, the notification is working. But it is the only time.
(I read some general messages about not using SMS, so I try to avoid it...)

And remember James, I added another tenant (domain) in Aad - and for this authentication, the notification is working. So my belief is that AAD notification is sent to an old instance somewhere. I've removed all unused devices.

James, I've tried to change to Google Auth, and got the message "Sent to Microsoft Auth.." or enter code from "Microsoft Auth..:". So, I believe there is a mismatch in the central account definition that points to an old device/device-token.
Any suggestions?

@Edvard Gundersen since the whole phone was resinstalled it's possible you need to change the Timezone, which would cause a time draft issue. Also, make sure they're push notifications are enabled.

Sorry, but the Timezone (automatic) is correct and Push seems correct to me. When testing I used the refresh-button in the Auth-app to get a response updated. All failed. During setup, the push-notification works...

In addition, if I try to enter the code from the MS App for my Azure Account, it fails. It tells me to be not expected code.

Code during login. When I choose another sign-in method from notification, I choose Code from Auth App. This code is wrong. And even if I change to Googles Auth app, it still tells me to use the code from the MS auth app...
During setup, I am only asked to verify with notification, which works that time only.
