I can use my school email in the browser version, edit/view, but not in the app. The app says "Your account abc@xyz can view documents, but it doesn't allow editing on a Mac. To edit, use another account to activate Microsoft 365." I attached the licenses my school email has. Screenshot 2024-02-24 at 12.22.15 AM

    Hi @HARVEE DOMONDON

Because A1 subscription does not include the Office desktop apps, even if you download and install Office desktop apps, you can't activate them.

As Office desktop apps cannot be activated, you can view files, but you can't edit them. You can only use Office for web on browser.

Hello Harvee,Office 365 A1 license does not allow you to install Office applications on Desktop or Mac. You need at least Office 365 A3 or A5 license to be able to download and install applications on either Desktop or Mac. Below is the link which will give you more details for all 3 types of licenses. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/products/office
