Can I purchase Exam AZ-304: Microsoft Azure Architect Design today and take the test later?

CompTIA allows you to buy the exam with a 12 month expiration, i.e I bought their test today and I have 12 months to take it.

Do the Azure certification exams follow same process or do I need to take the exam as soon as I purchase it?
