What error did you get when failed login outlook 2016 client?
To verify whether the issue is related to Exchange server or outlook client, check below points
- Please create a new mailbox in Exchange 2016 server, then login it with outlook 2016 client.
- Try using the ExRCA tool to check the result of Outlook connectivity
- Make sure in your Exchange 2010 and 2016 coexistence environment, have virtual directories and DNS records configured properly
Your DNS records should point to the Exchange 2016 server, and virtual directories in 2010 and 2016 like below
