Outlook opens blank mail pages when external monitor is disconnected

Hello,
Whenever I disconnect my laptop from an external monitor, Outlook opens up with extra blank mail pages. I am not sure what is causing this issue. I have already checked Outlook and made sure that it is updated, but the issue persists. This problem only happens with Outlook and not with any other Office365 applications or other software.
anything i can check for
