I recently had to get a new phone. When I set up my MS auth app on my new phone my saved accounts for 2FA didn't transfer over. I am now trying to gain access to one of my accounts (I have my login username and password) but I am unable to generate a one time use login code on MS auth. I have contacted tech support from this account and they said

"I understand the request that you are making, but unfortunately we are unable to manually assist in situations where access to an authenticator has been lost"

So I need to regain access to my login codes for this account so I can regain access to my account.

I have messaged your tech support but they have advised me that it is out of the scope of work. Ref. code 7036089230

Hi Kris Ostersen: Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Have you configured a backup for this earlier? if so, you can restore it without any issues. If not, you will have to reach out to your IT admin/support team to reset your MFA and then with the new security code try to re-add the account.

Yes, the support could not work on these issues.
