Hi,

After installing the new ADK Version on MCM 2309, PXE stopped working and now showing an error "No Response from Windows Deployment Services Server".

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

1,How many clients are facing this issue, all of them or only some? Please help check the smspxe.log on the server to see if there is any further information.

2,What version of Windows ADK you are using now? Are both boot Images (x64 and x86) deployed? Please help check your PXE-enabled DPs are working fine.

3, Is there a Task sequence deployed to all unknown computers or to the computer being booted?

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon

    Hi,

Windows ADK Version is 10.1.25398.1. Yes, all of the PCs are having this problem and there are multiple task sequences for unknown computers but I am not able to create a boot image for x86 now. Only an x64 boot image exists.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Sorry for the delayed reply.

==>but I am not able to create a boot image for x86 now. Only an x64 boot image exists.

This is normal to ADK for Windows 11 23H2. Windows 11 is not available in a 32-bit architecture, so the 32-bit version of Windows PE for Windows 11 is not supported. The last supported 32-bit version of Windows PE is for Windows 10, and can't be used to deploy Windows 11.

Can we find any clue in the smspxe.log on the server? Also make sure you have distributed the x64 boot image to your DPs.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon

Yes, the image has been distributed but what about the boot image file in the DHCP Server? Should it also be changed? Currently, it is like this.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

The recommended and supported method for PXE booting client computers on remote subnets is to use IP Helpers. Do not use DHCP options 60,66 and 67 on your DHCP servers. If the options are configured, the DHCP server will masquerade as a PXE server and respond to the client with path to the network boot program, then the PXE will failed.

    Useful articles for your reference:

PXE clients computers do not start when you configure the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol server to use options 60, 66, 67

You want to PXE Boot? Don't use DHCP Options.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon
