Hello

I have a user that quit in the firm and then started again. The user was disabled for almost 3 months and then started again. The user was not deleted from AD or Entra ID in the meantime and when we activated the account again, everything seems to work fine except access to Private Channels in Teams.
When I try to add the user with Powershell it says the user does not exist, but I checked the Object ID it refers to and it do exist in Entra ID.

I don't want to delete the user permanently in Entra ID and sync it again with AD. Because I will loose all email, devices and so forth.

Is it possible to solve this with a configuration in Entra ID or AD?

    Hi @Jan Baklund (Hertz Norway)

Wait for 24 to 48 hours for your account memberships to be automatically restored after your account is re-enabled. However, your membership won't be restored for private channels in Teams. You must make new requests for membership to each private channel that you want to rejoin.

As far as Teams is concerned, a disabled user cannot be part of any Teams "roster", including regular teams, private channels and so on. I suspect in this case the issue will be resolved once the backend synchronizes the (now enabled) status of the user, so just give it some time.

There is no need to delete the user, doing so will create more problems that it will solve.
