Seems to work on Chrome.

This is both from

Virtual machines - Create - Azure Virtual Machine - See all Images

and

Virtual machines - Create - Azure Virtual Machine - Image - Ubuntu 20 - see all images

90% of the time it gets stuck at loading the page.

    Hi Antti Rytsola,

I was testing with all the browsers that I have(opera, edge, firefox and chrome) In all of them no problems loading the images. Di you try using the private window of the browsers? Just to verify if there isn't any broken cookie or cache data that is impacting in your Azure Portal browsing operations. If this solve the problem consider to clean-up the cookies and cache of the browser.

    Cheers, Luis

Hello, @Antti Rytsola ! We received your feedback and want to make sure that your question is answered.

Why is the portal hanging in certain browsers when selecting an image while creating a new VM?

I can confirm that the image list works on Firefox (as shown below) in addition to what @Luis Arias has tested so for troubleshooting we'll want to make sure that nothing browser specific is happening (as you mentioned that this behaves normally on Chrome). Let's try the following and if that doesn't work, we may need to gather a network trace:

    • Continue using Private Windows/Incognito for testing
    • Disable any addons that may be installed
    • Delete cache/cookies on the affected browsers
    • Confirm that nothing is blocking JavaScript execution
    • Review your browser security settings (what is allowed may differ slightly between browsers)

If that doesn't work, the next troubleshooting step would be to capture a browser network trace. Let me know and I'll provide steps for sending that to us.
