Hello,

We are currently deploying 60 azure stack nodes and we have the option to deploy to an older 3 tier data centre (core agg, access) network architecture or an SDN enabled two tier fabric?

What is Microsoft's recommended approach and what should we consider?

    Hello Ishaan Kum,

Welcome to microsoft Q&A, Thankyou for posting your query here.

Microsoft recommends using the SDN-enabled two-tier fabric architecture for Azure Stack deployments.

Three-tier network architecture, the core layer provides high-speed connectivity between the aggregation layer switches, while the aggregation layer provides connectivity to the access layer switches. The access layer provides connectivity to the servers running Azure Stack. This architecture is more complex and can be more difficult to manage and maintain.

In the SDN-enabled two-tier fabric architecture, the spine layer provides high-speed connectivity between the leaf switches, while the leaf layer provides connectivity to the servers running Azure Stack, making it easier to manage and maintain.

The SDN-enabled two-tier fabric architecture is highly scalable and can easily accommodate additional Azure Stack nodes.

The SDN-enabled two-tier fabric architecture provides a highly available network infrastructure that is designed to minimize downtime and ensure that your Azure Stack workloads are always available.

    Hope this information helps you.
