Hi, student here. As the title explains I am trying to create a VM and following the instructions provided by my professor. At first I thought it was a version difference as the videos he provided were a year old and the UI was updated but there is no option to generate SSH key in my VM creation menu.

The first image is taken from the video my professor provided but when I go to do it there is no option anywhere. Am I missing something? I went through all the settings and simply couldn't find it. The only thing I could do was create a new SSH key from the main azure menu but it wont let me load it into the VM I made.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

For Image, did you select Ubuntu or other Linux option? Based on your screenshot it appears you selected a Windows image. If you already have a Linux image selected please try switching it to a Windows image and then immediately switching it back to Ubuntu.
