Hi Emeka Onodugo,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.
In azure, the concept of master payer account is similar to billing account. It doesn’t call it a Master Payer account, but the billing account and associated roles fulfill similar functions.
Billing Account:
- When you sign up to use Azure, a billing account is automatically created for you. This account serves as the central hub for managing invoices, payments, and tracking costs. You can have access to multiple billing accounts if needed.
Account Administrator:
- The Account Administrator role is crucial for managing billing within Azure. This role is assigned to the person who originally signed up for Azure.
Paying Invoices:
- To pay invoices in the Azure portal, you must either have the correct permissions under the Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) or be the Billing Account admin. The Billing Account admin is the user who initially set up the MCA account3.
