Migration of Distribution groups from On-prem to cloud

Hi All,

I am trying to migrate groups from on-prem to cloud.

Its hybrid enviroment(at the moment mailflow is directly to cloud)

As per my research. I can take following steps.

1)Get all the list of DG with all the important information

2)Delete them from on prem

3)recreate in cloud

4)assign x500 value

My question is do i really need to keep x500 value while migration.

If i delete on prem group, does it will delete x500 value.

Also if ou have any sort of script that could help. Please share with me.\

Yes, you want to keep the X500 value in order to avoid issues with replying to older messages and autocomplete entries. As for the process itself, you can use this tool: https://github.com/timmcmic/DLConversionV2
