Hello, @Stefano Rico !
Why am I getting a NotAvailableForSubscription
error when trying to create a VM?
There are 2 quotas that would prevent you from being able to deploy a specific VM SKU (GPU VMs included):
- The first tier is the total regional vCPU quota
- The second tier is the VM-family vCPU quota such as D-series vCPUs (or GPU VMs)
One of the biggest hurdles when dealing with GPU VMs is that they are extremely popular right now with AI projects from different customers consuming GPU resources as soon as they are released even though new resources are constantly being added. Resources also work on a seniority basis, so free accounts would not get priority over paid accounts, and a new pay-as-you-go subscription might have to wait longer than existing customers who are prioritized for that resource.
It is worthwhile to complete the request for a quota increase, but also important to note that a record number of people are doing the same thing so there is likely going to be a bit of a wait. If you need help completing the quota increase process, please let us know in the comments and we would be happy to help The link you mentioned should take you to a page to complete the quota increase process but these are alternate instructions just in case:

Note: A similarly common error is the size not available in location error where a specific VM size may not be offered in a specific region or there may be no availability left for that specific VM size.
I hope this has been helpful! Your feedback is important so please take a moment to accept answers.
