Hi All,

I found myself in a bit tricky situation. so here's what happened:

  1. with my personal Microsoft outlook account, I created azure trial subscription and then I created 1 extra user in Entra ID called "AzUser01" and gave Global Administrator Role.
  2. Now, I logged in via the user "AzUser01" and removed my personal outlook account from the entra ID list.
  3. When I sign in again using my personal account, I couldn't access most of the things in Azure including Entra ID users page. So I created one new PayAsYouGo subscription and now this created new domain.
Free Trial domain is : @xxxxxxxx.onmicrosoft.com
    PayAsYouGo domain is: @xxxxxxx568.onmicrosoft.com

My question is, is there a way to remove the domain I was assigned with PayAsYouGo and get back access to the Free Trial domain?
currently, free trial subscription has no owner and only AzUser01 has access to it with no way of upgrading/modifying that subscription.

Thanks,
regards

    Hi Anand,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A!

If you have access to a Global Administrator account which is linked to the original subscription you can re-gain access to it.

Login to portal.azure.com with the AzUser01 account and navigate to Entra ID - Properties - https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_AAD_IAM/ActiveDirectoryMenuBlade/~/Properties

Here you will see "Access management for Azure resources" where you can enable the User Access Administrator role for this account.

You might need to login again but you should now see the subscription listed under the Subscriptions blade - https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_Billing/SubscriptionsBladeV2

Here you can assign your AzUser01 account "Owner" permissions on the Free Trial subscription.

Let me know if you have any further queries, I would be happy to help.

Please "Accept the answer" if the information helped you. This will help us and others in the community as well.

    Kind Regards,

    Donal
