Thanks for your post. Before moving on, can I know if the hypervisor Hyper-V or VMware? Generally speaking, in Hyper-V, add another new hard disk to the VM. Then, within the VM, open disk management and initialize, online, and format the newly added disk. You can then give it a drive letter and migrate any data from C that you want to it. Often the best way to do this is with robocopy, but it depends on what the data is. With that done, you should be able to go back to disk management and shrink the C drive. That should get you where you want to be.
