Office 2016 when originally released had session 0 issues with COM api's. This got fix in later patches.

In Office 2019, AppV dll / exe stuff is not really handled properly in session 0 (NT Service). Sometimes it thinks in needs to start AppVDllSurrogate32 or AppVDllSurrogate64 depending on office bitness (32 or 64) but really this should be happening at all. Not an AppV environment.

But biggest issue is VISIO 2019 always crash when you try to open a VISIO diagram using automation in session 0. Other apps (Word/Excel) do not crash.

Is there anyway to work around this issue by changing some regkeys?

Or MS please fix this.

    @Robert Massart ,

    Is this issue reproduced if you open Visio 2019 directly?

    As we are mainly responsible for general issues of Office desktop applications, if this issue occur with opening Visio via automation with any programming language that supports, I would suggest you ask this question on the forums below.

    Office developer community

    Besides, please go to Visio > File > Feedback > Click the icon besides "I don't like something", then raise this issue. You may also upload the related screenshots, this behaivor would let Microsoft developers hear your voice.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Problem is "access for developers" is totally broken support for Office products. There is no where to talk to Office developers any more they have become totally hidden and I feel the same for most of the Microsoft developer community. If you have a really hard tech issue there is no discussion groups left to talk on.

    emilyhua - no luck getting to office development team.

    There has to be a better way to get office development team involved with fixing these issue but I have not found it after a year of trying. I've been a Visual Studio Enterprise subscription customer for 20 years now and this is the first time I find my issues dropping on deaf ears.

    There has to be a proper site to send Office local crash dump files to and have the issue repaired. I just don't get it.
