I've developed an add-in for Microsoft Word. However, I've encountered an issue where I'm unable to open multiple Word windows when trying to create or open new documents from within the add-in.
This is happening only when my Desktop word version got updated to 2404.
I believe the response already posted may be the best advice. I would add that you should post Feedback using Microsoft's feedback mechanisms because that is how they learn about bugs in the program (not from posts here).

With the release of new versions, Microsoft will fix some problems with Office applications. For more details of Version 2404, please refer to: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/current-channel#version-2404-april-29
At the moment, I suggest you roll back to the previous version.

This happens when a user clicks a button attempting to open a new document(in an MS Word window) containing the add-ins we have developed, the new window does not seem to open. This is an occurrence we observed in the new update only and not in the previous updates.
Also another observed anomaly in this update is that, only in certain devices this issue occurs. The same accounts working in certain devices do not seem to work in certain devices.
Also as you mentioned, we tried rolling back to 2403 (Build 17425.20176) from 2404 (Build 17531.20128). Yet the problem persisted.
The code used to open a new MS Word window:
window.open(`ms-word:ofe|u|${documentUrl}`);
