Are the drivers from Dell for Windows 11 or Windows 10 or are you using the Intel website to update the drivers?
How to force higher resolution on display?
Hi all,
I have a Dell laptop with a i7-8650U CPU, which means it comes with Intel's UHD 620 graphics, which, according to the specs in Dell's User Manual, will support up to 4096 x 2304 @ 60 Hz over an HDMI 2.0 interface.
I also have a 30-inch monitor which is capable of 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz connected to the laptop's HDMI port. Should be a piece of cake to get that resolution, right?
So how come, when I'm using Windows 11's Settings>System>Display>Display Resolution menu, the highest resolution available to be chosen is "1920 x 1200 (recommended)"? How do I tell Windows that a higher resolution is available and to use it?
I have all of the most recent drivers and supporting apps from Dell's web site, but nothing seems to make a difference. I'm open to any options or suggestions at this point.
Thanks in advance,
Bill

2023-10-29T20:23:59+00:00 They are Dell's Windows 11 drivers, directly from Dell's Support site.
Although to be fair, a lot of them say "For Windows 10/11"...

2023-10-31T01:38:51+00:00 I think my problem lies in my monitor. The specs say it will do 2650 x 1600, but then the fine print specifies that resolution is only available via DisplayPort or VGA connections. With HDMI, it's limited to 1920 x 1200. And the laptop I'm trying to use this with only has an HDMI video output. Sigh...
Thanks for the ideas, though. I appreciate your efforts.
