OS - Windows Server 2016
Environment: Server/Client (DC & Backup DC); Wired LAN and WLAN;
Clients: Smartphones, Laptops, Desktops, Printers, Deskphones

PRESENT SCENARIO

I've got two DHCP Scopes, One for the desk-phones and the other for all other devices with the network. Each scope has a different IP range?

PROPOSAL
I want all smartphone devices to be in a separate IP range. If possible, I want to achieve this through setting policies within the scope.

I attempted to set a new policy by using the FQDN criteria with a not equals operator and setting the values with the prefix of the organizational devices while appending a wildcard.
I am stuck at that point. No idea as to how to assign the policy to the new IP arrange for the Smartphones.

Bottom line is that I want to set certain group policies for just the smartphones.

Thanks

    Hi ,

    Based on my understanding, you want to make Windows Server DHCP force smartphone devices into a certain range. Is that right? Please feel free to let me know if I have any misunderstanding.

    As far as I know, DHCP policy can not achieve this goal.

    This is depend on your wireless AP device, you can setup a separate SSID for those smartphone devices and point it to Vlan 2 (the mobile device), and they will get the IP's you want.

    Here is a similar thread discussed before, you could have a look:
