This issue has been resolved. Hopefully this will help someone else who runs into this issue.
I opened a call with MS support on the issue, and was assisted in doing the following:
Below is the summary of the Ticket :
- Outlook and owa search was not working.
- Checked the content index folder from file explorer and was not updated.
- Rebuilt Search Index on one of the database mbxyzz01
- Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStatus *|sort name| Select name,status,contentindexstate
- Stop-Service MSExchangeFastSearch
- Stop-Service HostControllerService
- Renamed the Catalog folder
- started the services
- start-Service MSExchangeFastSearch
- start-Service HostControllerService
- Issue fixed in OWA and outlook
