What happened to the serial console in Azure portal? This feature has been particular useful when dealing with issues when SSH or remote access isn't available and for booting into recovery mode.

    Hello Sophal Lee

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform, thanks for posting your query here.

I can see Azure Serial console in Azure Portal, the serial console can be accessed by using the Azure portal or Azure CLI and is allowed only for those users who have an access role of Contributor or higher to the VM or virtual machine scale set.

    Ref: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/azure/virtual-machines/windows/serial-console-overview

Can you please check once on the prerequisites mentioned here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/azure/virtual-machines/windows/serial-console-windows#prerequisites

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Sophal ,

If you are not seeing anything in the serial console, make sure that boot diagnostics is enabled on your VM. Hitting Enter will often fix issues where nothing is showing up in the serial console

Please check link and doc for more ref https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/azure/virtual-machines/linux/serial-console-linux
