I cannot remember where I put a folder and subsequent files. I search by file name e.g. Banks up comes a hundred files. I want to know what the file path is to then look it up in windows explorer but it does not show the full file path.

How to show the full file path in windows explorer when searching a file or folder.

The situation:

I cannot remember where I put a folder or a file. So I search by file name in windows explorer (e.g. Banks stuff) and up comes a hundred files. I want to know what the file path is to then look it up in windows explorer to paste a file.

But it does not show the full file path becuase it is too long. I have to open an excel spreadsheet (if there is one of similar name); and go 'file' 'info' to find out the fully file path.

Someting so simple is driving me around the twist.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

To display the full location path in File Explorer, use the following steps:

    1. Click Start > Windows System > File Explorer, or press the win + E key combination to open File Explorer.
    2. In File Explorer, click the View tab.
    3. In the Show/Hide section, click the Options button.
    4. In the Folder Options window that opens, click the View tab.
    5. In the Advanced Settings list, select the Show full path in title bar option.
    6. Click the Apply button.
    7. Click the OK button.

After completing these steps, the full path of the file or folder location will be displayed in the title bar of File Explorer.

I hope the information above is helpful.

    Best regards

    Zunhui
