I have been migrated to new outlook... I want to save a calendar entry as .ics format so that I can share it. Is this simple task still possible in new outlook?

In previous outlook it was very simple to save an .ics entry to a file (and sharing it later).

With new outlook I don't seem to find any way to save a .ics entry.

Related to the above, I wanted also to point out that saved .ics entries from legacy outlook are not anymore readable by new outlook.

Thanks.

M.

    Hi Veltri,

New Outlook interface might vary slightly based on updates or configurations. If you don’t see the options mentioned above, consider checking for any interface updates or temporarily reverting to the Classic Ribbon for more straightforward access to the “File” menu.

Save an Event as an .ics File

    • Open your New Outlook.
    • Navigate to the calendar entry you want to save.
    • Click on the event to open its details.
    • Look for an option to forward the event (usually represented by an arrow icon).
    • Write an email (you can send it to yourself) and attach the event as an .ics file.
    • Send the email, and the recipient will receive the event as an attachment.

    Hi @ VELTRI Marco

    Welcome to our forum!

Based on my research, the calendar could not be saved as a .ics format in New Outlook, I am afraid that you need to switch to legacy Outlook to use this feature.

Please kindly understand that many functions are not designed at present. At present, what I can do for you is to submit feedback for your request and I have post here, and you could vote for it. If you have any suggestions or ideas, it is suggested that you could post here. Hope Microsoft will notice this in the future. Thanks for your understanding and support!

I wanted also to point out that saved .ics entries from legacy outlook are not anymore readable by new outlook.

It is recommended that you may please follow the steps (Calendar>Add Calendar>Upload from file>Browser(the location of .ics) and select a calendar>Open) to realize it.

    Hope it helps!
