Block OneDrive Desktop sync by external users but allow working with office apps.

Hi everyone,

I am trying to figure out a way to allow guest users to work on files in SharePoint via Office apps but deny them the option to use OneDrive desktop app to sync to local PC.

Any Ideas?

Office availability https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/limit-sync-for-a-sharepoint-site-e17bf52b-fa5d-41cf-9eb0-d3812542424e
Block access to onedrive https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/limit-access

Your answer, although extremely helpful, is not quite what I am searching for... My objective is to limit OneDrive to Guest users.

If I restrict access based on groups, it means Guest will not be able to work on SP files even though this is exactly what is required from that Guest...

Is there another way to make guest users be able to work on SP files either from browser or Office apps. and block the sync option? Maybe conditional access or something?
