AD users folder empty for me but not for others

Suddenly when I look in the AD users folder it's empty. Brief heart attack. But the users can still log in. Other admins/domain admins (I'm a domain admin too) can see them. If I switch to the mirror server I can see them. So AD is fine but won't show some things to me (which I use to see) but just on the one server, though they're mirrored. Searching about this finds related posts but not like this.
Server 2016 STD, been fine for a long time.
Small installation. Just two servers that are both DC and one we added 2nd just mirrors first as a fallback.
In AD:
Built-in: empty
Computers: all there
Users: Empty
(THis migrated from Small Busi Server before my time)
MyBusiness|Computers|SBSComuters: Empty
MyBusiness|Distribution Groups: Empty
MyBusiness|Security Groups: Empty
MyBusiness|Users|SBSUsers: Empty

What's wrong and how to repair? Thanks!

    Please run;

    Dcdiag /v /c /d /e /s:%computername% >c:\dcdiag.log
    repadmin /showrepl >C:\repl.txt
    ipconfig /all > C:\dc1.txt
    ipconfig /all > C:\dc2.txt

then put unzipped text files up on OneDrive and share a link.

if problems persist after making correction then put up a new set of files to look at.
