Snipping Tool is moving... um... where?

There is a message in the Snipping Tool application in Windows 10 20H2 that says "In a future update, Snipping Tool will be moving to a new home." The message can't be hidden, which is not helpful, and also the message is confusing because there's no explanation what it means. Does it mean you're getting rid of the Snipping Tool? If so why? it's such a simple and easy to use tool.

Update: I have filed a report in the feedback center. https://aka.ms/AAadzpx

    Hi,

Even through Microsoft consider to remove snipping to away from Windows 10, but have not release exact data or system version when the tool will be removed.
We could go ahead to use it and ignore that sentence. But as it is based on hard coding, so it is not available to remove that sentence.

We could feedback to Microsoft through Windows build-in application Feedback Hub about this behavior to check if any management option will be released in feature.

    Bests,

You right. The message has been there for a few Windows releases, but the Snipping Tool has not been removed. I still use Snipping Tool. The new Snip and Sketch doesn't have the same capture modes as Snipping Tool. Other than the capture modes, there is not much difference from a functional point of view. The difference is that Snipping Tool is an old forms application, and Snip and Sketch is a new Windows store application. Since Microsoft wants everyone to move to Windows Apps, the message remains.

I would like to see four features added to Snip and Sketch before I would consider moving over:

    1. Offer the same capture modes as Snipping Tool
    2. A link to Paint 3d as Snipping tool
    3. The DPI level of the capture be set. So many times the capture looks blurry when copied to a Word document. The lower DPI doesn't do well for printed books.
    4. Have an option to add have jagged edges effect to any of the 4 sides of the picture. The effect makes the picture look like it was torn from a page or a portion of a larger image. It creates a nice effect compared to just a block image. Several 3rd party snip and capture tools have this feature.
